How Can General Dental Treatments Help?

Regular dental examinations form the cornerstone of a good preventative dental care and enable our dentists to detect any diseases and problems at a stage when they are easy and simple to treat. Procedures such as fillings help protect teeth and prevent any further decay and infection. If you do have an deep carious or decayed teeth, root canal treatment could be an option to save them, depending on the nature and extent of decay. Wisdom teeth cause developing issues along their eruption and our dentists keep a close eye on these teeth and will recommend the option of extraction if required or the best path forward. Fissure sealants are excellent for protecting the chewing surfaces of premolars and molar teeth. They are best applied immediately after these teeth erupt.

To help us provide the most personalised and effective care from your very first visit, please bring a few key items. This includes any relevant medical history, a complete list of any medications you are currently taking, and your private health insurance card if you are a member. This information allows our dental team to get a comprehensive understanding of your overall health, ensuring all treatments are safe and tailored specifically to you.

Your first oral examination is a cornerstone of your long-term dental health. Your first exam includes a full check of your teeth and gums, where we meticulously chart their condition. We then perform a professional cleaning to remove built-up plaque and tartar from areas that brushing might miss, followed by a polish to leave your teeth feeling smooth and fresh. If necessary, we will take diagnostic x-rays, as they are crucial to help us understand your oral health fully and detect any underlying issues not visible to the naked eye.

Our primary focus is on proactive and preventative dental care, aiming to stop issues before they can develop. Our preventative services are comprehensive and include regular check-ups, professional cleanings, and targeted fluoride treatment to strengthen tooth enamel and fight decay. For our younger patients, we offer fissure sealants to protect vulnerable molars, and for those active in sports, we provide custom-fitted mouthguards to protect your smile from injury.
