Let’s talk about Invisalign
Are you aware of the importance of your smile? If you aren’t, you should think about it like this. When you meet someone, the smile is often the first thing they’ll notice about you. If you’re not happy with your smile, it is unlikely that you will give a good first impression or have a lasting impact on someone who could be quite important. With Invisalign Macleod, you can get straight teeth worthy of a great first impression. Here at The Dental Retreat, we want you to know all of your options. We will listen to you in order to understand any concerns and to ensure you are feeling comfortable and relaxed in our dental practice.
In this short article, we will briefly discuss Invisalign Macleod, including the procedure, some of the benefits and how to take care of the aligners.
Are you suitable?
There are a number of reasons that you might be considering Invisalign Macleod, including having a variety of things wrong with your teeth, but not all of them will be best treated by the clear aligners. That is why it is extremely important to get in touch with us so we can evaluate you and your mouth on a more personal and professional level. However, if you have crooked teeth, over-crowded teeth, gaps between your teeth, an underbite or an overbite, then this specific treatment might work perfectly for you.
The treatment process
The clear aligner process can sometimes be a long one, ranging anywhere from 6 to 18 months, but it is also one that works very subtly and often will not be noticed. The aligners are completely clear and almost invisible, meaning that you can wear them alongside carrying out your day-to-day activities and no one will be any the wiser. The treatment starts when you come in for your consultation and we examine your mouth thoroughly, as well as taking any X-rays that might be needed. We will then take a mould of your mouth and send it off for your clear aligners to be created. Once the aligners are ready, you will receive multiple sets. In order to keep your teeth constantly moving into their desired position, you will have to switch the aligners at certain intervals. It is important to also clean your teeth, as well as the trays themselves and wear retainers.
Cleaning
As the aligners are completely removable, you should be sure to keep them clean. You can do this by placing them under cold water and removing any food or debris from them with a soft bristled brush. Do not use hot or even warm water on the aligners as this can cause damage and even warp them out of shape, which means they will no longer be beneficial for your teeth.
For teenagers
With teenagers having teeth that are still growing, they will only be considered for this treatment on an individual basis. However, because they are still growing, it can be considered an advantage to fix any problems with their teeth at a younger age so that when they are adults, they do not need to worry about them or suffer from any of the side effects misaligned teeth can bring.
