Advantages of using Invisalign
When it comes to undertaking any kind of dental procedure in adulthood, many people are wary.
This is because, in part, some don’t want to experience discomfort and others don’t want attention to be drawn to their teeth if it doesn’t need to be.
And both of these concerns spring to mind when many people think of orthodontic care.
But there is a way to avoid using a brace in your adult years while still getting a straighter smile, and that is with invisible aligners.
When you come to The Dental Retreat for orthodontic realignment, we may be able to offer you treatment using the world-famous Invisalign Macleod, which can straighten your teeth without drawing stares or glares from your friends or family.
But are there any advantages to using Invisalign Macleod? Read on to find out!
Better dental health
Many people will have memories of a kid in high school wearing a brace, and those memories may involve this kid needing additional hygienist treatments to keep their teeth in good condition until the brace came off.
With Invisalign Macleod, there is no need to worry about hygienist appointments or lengthy brushing sessions; it is fully removable, and you can take it out to brush your teeth, attend dental checkups and eat whatever you like. Great!
Removable
As mentioned earlier, this aligner is removable, and as such, you can take it out to give talks at work, eat your favourite foods and clean your teeth. But when you take the aligner out to eat, you will need to brush your teeth before putting it back in your mouth to prevent food debris and bacteria from accumulating.
Also, to benefit from this treatment, you need to wear the aligner for a minimum of 22 hours per day or as directed by our team. If you don’t, your orthodontic treatment may stall or your teeth may revert to their former positions.
Acceleration
Most people imagine wearing an aligner or brace in adulthood as being a lengthy, drawn-out process.
But with invisible aligners, there is an average treatment time of between 3 to 6 months, so you can get the straighter smile you want within a shorter time frame.
Clear
As the name suggests, invisible aligners are, well, clear (they can’t be invisible!), which means that the dread of wearing a noticeable orthodontic tool is removed.
But they also need to be kept clean, which is a cinch; simply rinse them under a cold water tap to remove debris. Do not under any circumstance use hot water to clean your aligners, as this can cause them to warp out of shape. It is also advised to not place them in mouthwash to clean them, as this can cause the plastic to discolour, which will obviously draw stares!
Excellent results
The results obtained by invisible aligners can be stunning, and this tool should not be underestimated. If you are looking for an easy way to straighten a mild to moderate misalignment, then this may be the tool for you. Just talk to our team at The Dental Retreat for more information.
